Divorce Lawyer Robert Fischer had Norman murder charges on him but it got dismissed in 2021. Moreover, the court had convicted him in 2013 but overturned the decision. Likewise, he again had a murder indictment in 2018, but this time Maricopa County Attorney’s Office dismissed it.
The Friday (25 March 2022) episode of NBC’s Dateline, In the Light of Day, looked into the suspicious death of Norman. Keith Morrison tries to answer the question of whether it was a suicide or murder? He even speaks to the 49-year-old’s family members.
Reportedly, Robert was at Norman’s house in Queen Creek, when the incident took place. Norman passed away of a single bullet from Robert’s handgun into his right eye.
After the incident, Robert called 911 and reported the nature of the death as suicide.
The accused’s attorneys told that the deceased was suicidal. According to them, he was having financial and marital difficulties. However, authorities believe Norman’s death to be a staged murder, not a suicide.
They think that Robert, a former police officer, covered up the crime using his law enforcement training and knowledge as an attorney. However, the authorities don’t have enough evidence – there isn’t any fingerprint or DNA evidence that shows Robert fired the gun.
And he says that he was sleeping in another room when the incident happened. Nonetheless, some experts do believe that he was present. They believe so because of the blood pattern on his pajamas.
